The difference between high and low tide in the Bay de Somme is nearly 33 feet, but at low tide it is possible to walk across the sand and mud flats from Le Crotoy to Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Le Crotoy has the only south facing beach on the Côte d'Opale.
